Miyoko's Summon Contract

Deep within a ravine south of Ryugakure Miyoko searched, today marked her second week being a genin. The small girl had read up on a mysterious cave south of her village, this cave was supposed to hold great power. Miyoko had set off that morning, she planned to make a short trek south of Ryugakure in search of this cave. After a few short hours, the girl found herself immersed in a dangerous ravine that jutted outwards into the lightning country's hard stone.

Miyoko had researched this topic for a few weeks now even before she was a genin. The girl had always been interested in snakes yet this was taking it to a different level. She gleamed at the thought of having a contract with a powerful creature, dancing along the rocks Miyoko kept an eye out for the cave. Apparently, the cave would be noticeable because of the snake carvings lining its outside. Moving deeper into the ravine Miyoko began to worry. Looking around this was for sure the area, what the locals knew as the Great Divide.

Stepping down onto a bedding of gravel Miyoko felt the loose rock move beneath her. Quickly pulling her foot away snakes swarmed from the gravel. The slithering creatures moved between what looked to be fallen rocks. Miyoko peered into the small crevice but she couldn't see much, yet Miyoko could hear the noise of hissing snakes. She stood there for a moment, sizing herself up and the makeshift tunnel. Squirming her way into the crevice Miyoko slowly moved forwards.

Pushing deeper Miyoko was finally free from the collapsed rocks. Looking around it was dark, but she found herself in a cave. This cave was indeed the mysterious cave mentioned in text, peering forwards Miyoko could see a large snake coiled up in the distance. As she entered the room braziers began igniting around her to reveal a copious amount of snakes lining the area. Before her lied a massive dark purple serpent, it slowly rose before her. "Ahh now, who is this? Most people don't come to us... we've shut ourselves off from outsiders. Young lady... you must leave at once." The large creature edged towards Miyoko who stood with a firm stance. "I'll have you know I came here in search of a companion. I read up on this place--" Before she could finish the creature slithered behind her coiling around her. "Now now, listen here, we haven't given out contracts in a long time. No one here wants to leave our sanctuary."

Stomping her foot into the ground Miyoko cried out, "Speak for yourself! But maybe there is a snake here that would like to accompany me." The large serpent before her chuckled and slid back towards his resting place, "Fair enough," he said. "Let one of my friends chose whether they want to leave or not!" Miyoko stood there for a moment and waited, the cave was filled with dead silence. After a few moments one lone snake coiled around Miyoko's leg, it looked up at the girl and spoke. "Since you found us I, Utamuro shall sign a contract with you!" The snakes began cackling and the large purple serpent called out to Miyoko, "This snake is a young one, he hasn't finished growing yet. If he is to accompany you he must stay under tight watch." Utamuro hissed at the elder serpent and coiled up Miyoko's arm. The girl admired the young snake, he was a pretty white and offered when no-one else would. Scrolls appeared before Miyoko, "Sign it in your blood!" said the elder serpent. Utamuro slid down to Miyoko's hand biting at her thumb causing blood to slither down her hand. Taking her thumb to the scroll like a pen Miyoko signed the snake's contract.

Within almost an instant the elder snake swallowed Miyoko and the contract. After a few moments Miyoko awoke in front of the collapsed boulders hiding the cave, she was covered in slime and Utamuro coiled up in her lap. "Sorry about that, big man just doesn't like to keep people in there too long." Miyoko stood up brushing herself off with Utamuro coiled around her arm beneath her sleeve she headed back to the village. After a few hours and a couple of stops, it was late at night. Standing before the village gates Miyoko made her way in. Ryugakure was still bustling and busy but Miyoko managed to sneak into her house through her window. Falling back onto her bed the genin let out a deep breath, yet within a short moment, her mother burst into her room. "Young lady where the hell have you been all day??" Looking up just barely Miyoko responded, "Genin business mom." Followed by a light chuckle Miyoko's mother closed her door allowing the girl to rest.
