Information: An unknown group of rogue ninja have been spotted wandering the country side of Hi no Kuni.  The three Chuunin have been tasked to investigate the origin of said rogues and either make it back to the village to report on the situation, or deal with the threat themselves.

Today was a day marked on Takeo's calendar which sat on the wall across his lofted bed. The teen hastily awoke early in the morning. His body jolted towards his calendar as he peered yet again for assurance. His mind stalled as he began to recall young memories of his childhood personal rival, Akimoto. With a weary sigh Takeo climbed down onto the floor of his room; continually, sliding the door open into a dark hallway. The sun had risen but Takeo's room was deep within his home hidden from most light and windows. As he sped down he stopped abruptly at a small room. Within remained all of the chuunin's ninja gear, and he then began his early morning ritual of sealing all of his weapons except his ninja-to. As this was routine Takeo finished fairly quick and soon ate his fill of food. Takeo was expecting to complete a pre-assinged mission today with Itsuki and someone distant to him named Akimoto. The chuunin made sure to keep a clear mind about this and ready for his mission. Heading back to his storage closet Takeo put on his: pants, mesh undershirt, chest and leg wrappings, alongside his chuunin flak jacket. Grabbing his ninja-to and hita-ate Takeo hid one along his spine and tied the other around his neck. Running to his home's front door Takeo busted outside into the Kokuun sector of Tenkaigakure. The morning air was crisp and quiet;furthermore, Takeo knew where exactly where to find Itsuki and Akimoto. It's our first mission together in most likely forever. Of course they'll both be at the Village's front gate, Takeo thought to himself. With a burst of speed the teen ran off to the Tenkaigakure's front gate. Luckily the chuunin's home was close to the inner city which allowed him to bolt it to the front gate. Within a short span of time Takeo had lept over multiple small children and one old lady. Soon arriving at the large front gate of Tenkaigakure where two ninja sat guard.

Light poured from the sky as the sun greeted the earth once more at the start of a new day.  "Eerrrrrrreeehhhaahhh" he let out, as he stretched.  The sun beamed softly through a small window in Akimoto's studio apartment.  If only I could tell the sun to wait five more minutes... he yawned, and dragged himself off of his bed.  The first few steps of Akimoto's morning were interrupted by a document being slipped under his door.  Akimoto's brow furrowed in thought as he bent down and picked the document up.  The document was sealed with the village's insignia.  Akimoto unsealed the document and began to pour over it.  It was a mission, the document included details about the goal and mentioned two other ninja that were assigned to assist.  "Takeo?  Itsuki?  Damn..." The trio had history together.  Rumors about the dealings of the captured Bijuu were only just starting to swirl around the military... so Akimoto was clueless about Takeo and Itsuki's recent business.

Akimoto left his apartment and made his way to a place where he knew they would come looking for him.  The front gate.

Itsuki tended to be an early bird. Per usual, he was up around 5 a.m., and ready by 5:15, which was a good bit before the allotted time for meeting his allies. That, in summation, is the reason Itsuki arrived later than everyone else. He had gotten so comfortable smoking by himself, eating cereal, and listening to the birds that he hadn't realized the time. It was 5 minutes til when he actually threw his shoes on and dashed out the house. Vaulting from stairway, to fence post, to rooftop, Itsuki scaled and leaped from place to place, reaching his destination with the speed and demeanor of a hungry monkey chasing a banana. Finally, with a distance jump that would impress professional athletes, Itsuki landed before the gate... just to realize he was actually 10 minutes early. He impatiently waited for his partners.

After a moment of overthinking Takeo decided it would make more sense for him to step outside of the Village gate. Exiting through the village gate Takeo's eyes were immediately drawn to Itsuki's white hair as he called out, "Hey you, how did you get here so quick? I get I had stuff to do prior, but I really tried to make it here on time..." Takeo looked around searching for Akimoto while also calling out to Itsuki."Have you seen him at all, did he manage to get here before me too? Whatever, let's just finish this, we've got a pretty long trek." Takeo's voice remained monotone, despite this he was still obviously annoyed. Reaching into his pocket the teen realized how much he needed a cigarette due to barely smoking in the past few weeks. As he opened the packet that always remained in his overcoat all that remained was a single cigarette. Takeo then scrambled to smoke his last one while thinking of where he could pick up more cigarettes on their mission. If I'm really lucky one of the rogue ninja will also smoke cigarettes, then they'll be free! Takeo finished his thought alongside the most of his cigarette. Ashing the rest on the ground with one quick stomp of his boot Takeo looked around yet again.

Akimoto had been waiting in the top of a nearby tree while his two friends chatted.  From atop the tree, Akimoto stuffed his hands into his pockets and jumped down into the area.  "Hmph... hey guys, its me."  He approached his childhood friends as they were waiting on him this whole time. Akimoto's eyes suddenly sharpened on Takeo. "Is that... a cigarette?" His gaze softened.  "Ah, never-mind forget I said anything.  Its been so long!  You guys excited for this mission?  Lets go get paid."

Akimoto would start to leave toward the forest mentioned in the mission statement, lest the others didn't follow.  He didn't speak much after that.  He knew his friends would probably have questions for their old friend and left the air silent for them.

Itsuki's eyes were trained on the falling person above him nearly immediately as they appeared. He was put on guard for a second, however he quickly realized that he recognized this character's face, faintly... "Hey Ach-- er... Akimoto." Itsuki rubbed the back of his head and closed his eyes as he stuttered over his words a bit. However, he didn't care much, they hadn't seen each other for a vast span of time, by now. Though, Itsuki didn't have much to say nor ask, so he chose to just not talk. Instead, he continued on towards the mission destination, along with Akimoto. Mere moments after setting off from the village into the deep forest, Itsuki unraveled a strawberry lollipop and popped it into his mouth.

The chuunin's dreams had been killed yet again, but this time it was probably best he didn't simply destroy another pack due to being so stressed. Akimoto made mention of some doton jutsu but provided Takeo with no names or ways to identify the jutsu type or rank. Therefore, under the Akimoto section all that was written was: big sword, and "some doton jutsu". Alongside this is were the chuunin left a few question marks within his playbook. Both Akimoto and Itsuki took cover somewhat within the clearing, but before completely leaving the tree line Takeo had quickly made his way up into the canopy. His body rested on the edge of the forest and clearing and his eyes searched for the rogue ninja. There are supposed to be three in total, but I don't see anybody here. Moreover, this area looks completely untouched... something doesn't seem right here, considered the chuunin.

Akimoto lead the group toward their destination as they spoke.  "Haha, Takeo, This is so like you.  Hm, where should I start."  Akimoto scratched his chin as he thought of what exactly he should tell Takeo.  Akimoto wasn't particularly skilled with the spiritual aspects of ninja abilities and had only defensive.

"Well, I know a few Doton jutsu..." He scratched his chin some more. "... and I've got this." he pushed his shoulders back to make his sword jingle in its leather harness.  "I know I don't have a doujutsu like you guys, but I've trained my body to compensate for things like that."  Akimoto then flexed his exposed arm soo hard everyone could hear his leather glove stretching around his fist.  "Not exactly sophisticated but, I don't even know what my limits are yet."

The forest started to thicken as they got closer to their destination.  Eventually the group came across the location the Ninja were said to be located.  At this location the forest suddenly dipped into a sinkhole turned waterfall.  The top of the waterfall was a natural cave entrance with a clearing just outside, water gently poured out of the darkness.  "I think this is the area."  At this point Akimoto was crouching in the shrubbery just outside of the clearing.

The spontaneous Chuunin continued alongside the other members of his team. As Takeo questioned Akimoto, and Akimoto subsequently answered the questioning, Itsuki found himself growing intensively bored. His mind began to drift, and he thought to himself: 'I wonder what Yume has been up to, hmmm.....' However, he didn't allow his rambling thoughts keep his mind from focusing on the task at hand. They were here for a task. Eventually, they seemingly reached their objective, and as they did so Akimoto quickly took cover, so Itsuki joined him.

As the three ninja sat in the brush silence fell over the forest.  The leaves rustled gently in the wind.  The water poured loudly over the rocks.  The tranquility of the forest was truly deafening.  Before the group knew it, from the opposite side of the clearing three ninja clad in black leather armor came from the brush.  "There they are..." Akimoto slowly drew his sword.  His blade hissed as it was drawn.  "I'll attack them directly, you guys try to surprise them once I get out there." 

Akimoto with his blade drawn dashed out into the opening.  "rrrrrrraaAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!"  He let out a battle-cry as he made his presence clear to the rogue ninja.

The ninja, while far away, looked provoked by Akimoto's directness.  "MY BLADE STRIKES TRUE!"  Once he was in range Akimoto thrusted his blade toward the heart of the closest of the three ninja.  The ninja grabbed Akimoto's blade between his hands essentially stopping Akimoto's attack but badly cutting his own hands.  "Damn, a Tenkai-ninja?! Get ready guys, I doubt hes alone!"

Itsuki simply slapped himself hard in the face in response to Akimoto's idiotic plan, to put it lightly. He wasn't even sure if he had attended the same Shinobi Academy as these two, judging by their lack of stealth or subtly or tactics in general. Considering this, and Takeo's stunt on their previous duo mission! Despite this, Itsuki saw some opportunity, they were at least distracted, for now. Taking this chance, Itsuki dashed to their right flank in silence, leaving Takeo. He decided to not activate his Saibougan, because Itsuki believed it'd be a waste of chakra to do so so early into a confrontation. While he was running, to the side, he caught a glimpse of one of the rogue ninjas eyes... purple... Quickly, the girl with the purple eyes whipped her head in Itsuki's direction and launched a volley of senbon. He was stuck with three senbon in his left arm, which he put up in front of his chest, and in response Itsuki activated his Saibougan. 'Fuck me, my cover was blown... hopefully Takeo notices what happened to me... and the girl's Doujutsu!'

Three figures had finally entered the clearing, and without taking time to identify the suspects Akimoto rushed into battle. His scream was muffled by the surrounding trees and waterfall. Takeo's eyes moved downwards where he spotted Itsuki run off hidden along the treeline. The chuunin's eyes hastily moved to the water fall where he focused on the reflection of the nukennin. Activating his Sharingan allowed him the clarity to study how Akimoto attacked, and as the teen reached back for his playbook his attention was quickly drawn elsewhere. One of the three nukennin was firing off senbon into the forest; continually, as Takeo's Sharingan tracked the thrown senbon his eyes were met with Itsuki. Forgetting his playbook the chuunin threw it into his pocket silently moving within the canopy. To a trained eye one could pick up on the red in Takeo's dojutusu, especially in the night. Therefore, with Takeo's Sharingan it was apparent how the nukennin located Itsuki so easily. Her eyes practically radiated purple in the night, which was a known dojutsu. Takeo had obviously done enough reading and learning in his time to know about the Ongengan. Something the teen classified as a "psuedo dojutsu" as it didn't approve the user's vision in anyway, only enhancing their hearing. She's going to hear me no matter where I leap from, my best bet is to come from an angle she won't expect... Takeo quickly broke into action breaking from the tree line. With a huge leap into the clearing the chuunin used Shakuton: Hien no Jutsu from beneath his feet and legs. The currents launched him through the sky towards the Ongengan nukennin, and while in the air before reaching for his ninja-to Takeo weaved three hand signs. A torrent of crows began to summon and grow around the three nukennin and Akimoto due to Takeo using Sanzengarasu no Jutsu while in the air. The chuunin's hand sprung towards his ninja-to where he sliced forwards at the Ongengan nukennin. She was quick to react by intercepting the chuunin's attack with a tanto. Takeo wasn't particularly strong and chose to swiftly backpedal creating warm currents to push him back onto the ground. As his shakuton jutsu dissipated Takeo's gaze met the girl with large plum eyes, and to her side stood an extremely large man Takeo had not noticed before. The nukennin didn't appear strong, but was extremely tall and long. The both of them focused their gaze on Takeo, and as the large one peered around the small girl his slender fingers only moved twice. With his mouth locked wide open towards Takeo a massive volume of snakes began to shoot out of the nukennin's gaping maw. In preparation the chuunin sheathed his ninja-to along his spine. Takeo then immediately retreated by flipping backwards while preparing a jutsu. During his flip away Takeo inhaled a deep breath, and as he landed his hands formed only two hand signs. The chuunin used Fuuton: Shinkuu Taigyoku as he exhaled his large breath towards the sea of serpents. His breath created a massive sphere of wind that collided with the wall of snakes causing the brunt of the them to explode flying into the air. Takeo took this time to book it back towards the tree line...

Akimoto's eyes locked with his opponents.  Out of the three enemy ninja, he was the most average looking.  His hands still held Akimoto's sword.

"How long do you think that's going to work?" Akimoto asked rhetorically, before releasing his grip on his sword.  Akimoto then reared back and landed on his hands with his bent legs facing the sky before pushing off the ground to send himself feet first at his opponent.  His attack however, was thwarted.  The ninja grabbed Akimoto's leg out of the air and used Akimoto's momentum against him to send him in an entirely different direction.  Akimoto managed to roll unto the ground after being thwarted.  "No way..." Akimoto's opponent threw his sword back at him and said "Get up."  Suddenly Takeo's attack collided with one of the other ninjas and snakes flew all over the battlefield.  "What the fuck?" Akimoto turned his attention back to his opponent.  They were drawing a sword of their own. "Oh great..." the sword was huge, it was practically a wall of steel that seemed to come out of nowhere. Did he summon this sword? Akimoto charged back at his opponent, slid between his legs, and punched him in the balls.  While the ninja reeled in pain Akimoto prepared to enclose the earth around them using Doton: Retsudo Tenshou

Itsuki's eyes trained on the three opponents, analyzing their abilities as they were in combat with his allies. Seeing the two fighting Takeo be distracted by his strategical retreat, and Akimoto's blow to his foe's chode, Itsuki pulled out the senbon from his arm and threw them at Akimoto's opponent as he charged into combat with more finesse than the blunder that Akimoto had pulled off earlier. As the Senbon flew through the air, the would be receiver of the needles would at the very least be distracted. However, this was not his target, as Itsuki dashed by Akimoto and the nukennin with the sword to approach the Ongengan wielder and the snake shinobi. Drawing two of his Ishuu into his two hands, Itsuki jumped into the air and spun like a top at the man. He was distracted by Takeo, but he was quick and slippery. He quickly bent under Itsuki's attack, however the chunnin did what he did best and kept the pressure on. Swinging rapidly at his target, keeping him on his feet with no opening to attack, as he did so he draw more of his Ishuu; from 2 to 3, to 4, and finally to 5.
