Takeo and Itsuki had been fairly routinely sparring together for the past few years, and despite missing the past few weeks they were on for today. It was a warm Saturday and the two often sparred early in the morning. Most shinobi would stay within Tenkaigakure's walls for a nice friendly spar, but Takeo and Itsuki differed from most shinobi in Tenkaigakure. Due to both of them being very determined individuals they couldn't help but going all out. Even if they agreed upon only hand-to-hand combat neither of them could last. There was a special bond between the two which always ended up in spectacular fights. Moreover, this connection they shared allowed them to wreak havoc on their enemies. The chuunin had everything he needed for his early morning sparring and left his home. The preferred sparring location of the two shinobi was located outside of Tenkaigakure's walls. To the west of their village within the forest was large lake with rivers leading to the sea. It was a perfect location for making use of many of their abilities; furthermore, the area tested not only their chakra control, but also staminia due to having such varied scenarios to spar among. Takeo was also very fond of this lake because he had spent many wonderful times growing here as a shinobi. Both chuunin had to have noticed early on how sparring one another benefits each's strengths. Upon exiting the village Takeo soared into the trees. Takeo was prepared to meet Itsuki as he moved within the tree canopy.

Itsuki had woken up extra early this day, from a combination of excitement and strategic preparation. His taijutsu took a lot out of him and his body, so Itsuki woke up early to do a minute amount of training and especially to get in a good session of stretching. After he felt truly limber, he set out an hour before the intended rendezvous time. This was for the purpose of practicality in a way, Itsuki decided to loop around the circumference of the lake's bank and wait for his friend and opponent on the side parallel to the true rendezvous area in clear view. As he saw movement in the distant trees, Itsuki expected his friend to emerge from the cover of the canopy shortly. So he yelled out, "Takeo! Are you ready?! I think we should start off small and build up, but I'm not going to stop you from wasting your chakra reserved early on!"

Takeo launched out of the tree canopy as he made it to their sparring location, and upon flying out of the trees Takeo flipped forwards landing on the ground with one swift motion. As Takeo landed he realized Itsuki wasn't here, but when his eyes peered across the lake he could see Itsuki's white tuft. Following this his comrade began to call out to him. Start out small? Hmph not like Itsuki, but he's right, contemplated Takeo as he sprinted onto the lake. "Let's go then," roared Takeo. The chuunin was running across the lake gunning it towards Itsuki when he summoned a kunai into his right hand using Kuchyose: Raikou Kenka. As he summoned a single kunai into his right hand Takeo threw it at Itsuki aiming at his friend's right leg.

Itsuki matched his old friend Takeo as they dashed at each other at full-speed, gliding over the water's surface like water-bugs or lily-pads. He noticed Takeo's hand release smoke for just a second, kunai, he thought to himself as he quickly went to retrieve his massive blade Hakahori. By the time Takeo released his projectile, Itsuki had just finished unsheathing his sword, and deflected the singular attack with ease. It went ricocheting else where, a few feet away, and it sank quickly. In response to this, Itsuki continued to dash but began to rotate quickly and extended the blade with one arm. This was difficult for him, Itsuki was strong, but the blade was massive, and he wasn't exactly accustomed yet. However, he made due, straining his arm and continuing to move forward while spinning in circle with Hakahori and gaining speed, he eventually released it flying towards Takeo like some kind of saucer that was now sent flying! The two had now closed their distance greatly, only about 15 feet lay between them. The sword whipped through the air unevenly, making terrifyingly dangerous sounds while cutting through the air at his friend. "Don't get chopped in half!" Itsuki had no intentions of losing Hakahori for the rest of the fight, but he knew he'd need to be clever against Takeo, if this devolved into a straight up fight of raw strength then he wasn't sure who would be victor, and he didn't like that answer. Plus, Takeo is known for his strategic thinking, it'd be foolish to go in unprepared. He threw Hakahori with much force, not expecting Takeo to be capable of deflection, as well as aiming for the forest across the lake hoping that it'd get lodged in a tree trunk.

The chuunin's kunai was easily deflected by Itsuki's massive sword, but to Takeo's surprise Itsuki used his own momentum to launch his weapon at Takeo. The sword was rotating through the air horizontally as it propelled to the chuunin, and in response to this Takeo activated his Sharingan preparing to dodge the flying sword. When the sword closed in Takeo took a large jump upwards making sure to lift his knees and legs high. The chuunin then landed on the broad blade and launched himself off of it. Continually, this caused Hakahori's projected flight path to change launching it into the dirt just on the river bed behind Takeo. Meanwhile in the air Takeo removed his gunbai from his back and slashed downwards with it using Fuuton: Kazekiri no Jutsu. The chuunin did not aim for Itsuki but instead the water right in front of his rival, and upon colliding with the body of water the blade of wind created a large upsurge and blast. As Takeo was being projected through the sky he flipped and landed behind Itsuki where he immediately pivoted 180 degrees. Now behind Itsuki the chuunin rushed the teen down attempting to slap him with his warfan. This attack was really just a set up, and Takeo was well aware that Itsuki would either block or dodge the attack.

Itsuki scoffed as Takeo launched off of his Hakahori blade, especially as it disrupted it's intended trajectory. However, his bigger concern was Takeo's aerial attack and movements, in response to the Fuuton jutsu he assumed was aimed at him, Itsuki flipped backwards a few feet. However, as he realized this was simply a distraction, he quickly pivoted to face Takeo as his ally did the same. They dashed at each other, though Itsuki was now without his personal weapon, he opted for an out of the box approach to this clash. As they dashed at each other, Itsuki activated his Raiton Chakura Moodo to increase his speed for this next trick. He then swiftly jumped into the air and cut off the flow of chakra to his feet that kept him skimming on the surface, allowing himself to sink rapidly. He reached for Takeo's ankles as he fell under the surface, bracing for a strong grip. He planned to hoist himself from under the water using Takeo's chakra from keeping the boy pulled under as a pull up bar of sorts, to flip underneath Takeo and then overhead, gripping his shoulders and tossing him back over while reengaging the chakra flow to his feet. Essentially, the world's first waterborne Peregrine Falcon.

Itsuki had flipped away from Takeo's fuuton jutsu and turned to face his rival. The two were again sprinting at each other, and Itsuki tried to surpass Takeo's speed by using raiton chakra modo. Luckily for Takeo his Sharingan was trained on Itsuki and his chakra usage, so this allowed the chuunin to copy his rivals jutsu simultaneously. So as Itsuki's body surged in lightning so did Takeo's as he used Raiton: Chakra Modo. Now that the two were again matched in speed Takeo was ready for whatever his rival had planned, and as they closed in on one another Takeo's dojutsu watched the chakra from Itsuki's feet dissipate when Itsuki had jumped up. He's willingly dropping under, questioned the chuunin. Takeo's vision shifted downwards as Itsuki quickly sunk into the water; moreover, the combination of his Sharingan and the lightning chakra surging through his nervous system caused Takeo's feet to move on their own. As Itsuki went to grab at Takeo's ankles the chuunin jumped up avoiding being grabbed. Following this, while in the air Takeo placed his war fan back on his back and weaved the Horse → Tiger → Ram → Monkey → Boar → Horse → Tiger hand signs. He had kneaded chakra in his stomach and used Katon: Goukakyuu no Jutsu to shoot a roaring orb of fire directly down at the water beneath his feet. Takeo had hoped to push Itsuki further down into the water and create a cover of steam. Takeo's orb of fire collided with the lake creating a large explosion and evaporating some of the water as Takeo landed. The lake began to ripple and waves started forming. The chuunin readied for his rival to emerge from the water.

Itsuki's attack was thwarted, how disappointing. He was grasping air by the time he was submerged underwater, but even under the ripples of the lake Itsuki could see Takeo weaving handsigns. Probably a Katon ability, or something from his new found Raiton arsenal, whatever it is I'm not sticking around to find out! Itsuki activated his Saibougan and scanned the lake's entirety in mere moments until he found his perfect target. An alligator. "Saibou Henka!" he let out a muffled exclamation as he began swimming away as his body transformed. He was about 5 feet down when the fireball broke the water's surface and came roaring at him, and by then he had completely changed shape. His new body allowed for incredible swimming speed, he easily evaded the reduced speed of the fireball that was being quelled by the lake's water. He kept his eye trained on Takeo was he swam at the bed of the lake, there was no way he'd be able to recognize Itsuki's chakra signature from the other organisms in this form. Taking his time as to not attract his attention, he slithered on the bottom to a small cluster of 4 alligators at a nearby bank, flanking Takeo's position. The chuunin reverted to his regular body and retrieved his Hakahori from the muddy sand at the edge of the lake. He then yelled out to his friend, "YOU KNOW I'M SLIPPIER THAN THAT!"

Takeo scanned the water below his feet for Itsuki's chakra. His sharingan studied beneath the water but couldn't find anything. That's the game you're playing then huh? I can't say I'm all that surprised, you've always been a smart combatant, considered the chuunin. Takeo was determined to make the most usage of his lightning armor, but before he could make his next move he heard Itsuki call out to him. The chuunin quickly turned to face where Hakahori had landed only to be met with Itsuki standing on the lake front surrounded by alligators. The water beneath the chuunin's feet broke as he ran with all of his speed towards his rival. Upon making it to the lake's edge Takeo lifted his right leg high up and attempted to kick Itsuki at his head. Following this the chuunin reared his leg back to the ground and threw a punch with his left hand aimed at his rival's chest. The alligators were immediately fed up and sunk into the lake swimming away.

Itsuki grinned cockily as Takeo dashed towards him. You may have those eyes, but you should know to stay on the defensive wise-guy, he ran towards Takeo at a bit of reduced rate making it seem like he was tired or hesitant. This was a facade, and the charismatic Itsuki is a pretty skilled actor. Once they were about to clash the chuunin activated his Karamatsu no Mai, with his Saibougan activated his accuracy was drastically improved and he lunged at Takeo who was within arm's reach and already throwing an attack. If the two collided, he intended to puncture or slash Takeo's limbs mainly, the biggest goal was to grapple him. If he succeeded in grappling he'd follow up with a focused Taijutsu attack.

The chuunin' lightning enhanced kick was just about to land when bones jolted from Itsuki's body. Takeo only managed to change the trajectory of his kick allowing him to avoid being punctured but he was still sliced on his leg by the bones. Due to all of the momentum built into his kick Takeo's leg was bleeding a fair amount, and because of this he quickly pulled it back. The chuunin knew he needed to make space between him and Itsuki, but he was just about to be grabbed by his rival. Takeo's Sharingan met with Itsuki's eyes as he closed in and the chuunin used, Magen: Jubaku Satsu. This would hopefully immobilize Itsuki momentarily allowing Takeo to back away. Despite his leg wound Takeo flipped back onto the lake and reached into a pocket on his flak jacket retrieving a painkiller and quickly taking it. This will keep me focused on the fight at hand, I should've expected some sort of offensive defense like that, pondered Takeo to himself. The lightning cloak surrounding the chuunin had finally dissipated, and the chuunin's nervous system relaxed. Takeo began unraveling his chain kama and swinging the kama back and forth. As he did this his bone kama created afterimages behind it blurring where the real weapon was. Takeo readied for his opponent to charge him.

Itsuki was glad when his defense struck a blow on Takeo, his superior speed and Sharingan made doing so difficult sometimes, without getting crafty. Luckily, that was one of Itsuki's many middle-names; along with danger, sexy, and hot-rod. However, as he attempted to continued his assault he was stopped dead in his tracks, not this bullshit again I hate mind tricks, he thought to himself as he began to attempt to break out. After a few concentrated attempts, Itsuki finally did so, and continued to keep his eyes at Takeo's feet afterward. He receeded his bone protrusions, and replaced them with Saiboutate Henka: Yoroi, then proceeded to approach Takeo at a walking pace. His focus was honed as he continued forward, his eyes at Takeo's midsection, and after a bit the two were right before each other. "Stuck between rock-hard carbon and a sharp place, heh." just then Itsuki kicked the surface of the lake intending to splash water into Takeo's face and distract him.

Itsuki's skin shifted and darkened as it became denser with carbon. His rival approached and kicked water up at Takeo's face. Dirty trick, considered Takeo as he jumped back. The chuunin created some slack with his chain kama and threw the kama at Itsuki's mid-section. When the chain-kama wrapped around Itsuki's waist Takeo began to pull at the chain. Using all of his strength Takeo pulled on his tethered chain causing Itsuki to slide towards him. Takeo ran with great speed at Itsuki while simultaneously pulling on his chain-kama. The chuunin closed in on Itsuki and threw an elbow with his left arm at Itsuki's ribs. It was likely that this elbow caused Takeo much more pain than Itsuki but the chuunin didn't let his rival in on that. Using the closeness of the two Takeo slammed his hard head into Itsuki's. Despite his rival's attempt to avoid Takeo's eyes; the chuunin had practically forced his eyes upon Itsuki. "Eat this," called out Takeo as he used, Magen: Kasegui. This genjutsu was similar to the one he just previously used on Itsuki, but Magen: Kasegui was a bit more frightening. Opposed to being wrapped up by a tree this genjutsu immobilized the target by striking them with large stakes. Takeo rarely used harmful genjutsu on people he sparred, nor did he really ever use it on friends. The chuunin reserved all of his genjutsu for a single friend, Itsuki. Takeo knew that the only person who could handle it was his rival, but the chuunin also knew that enduring genjutsu would desensitize Itsuki to it. Takeo genuinely hoped to aid Itsuki in understanding and countering the annoyance that was genjutsu.

Itsuki watched as Takeo slung his kama in his direction, allowing it to wrap around his mid-section as to draw nearer to his foe while giving him the illusion of control. Easiest trick in the book. As Takeo came in to deliver a blow to Itsuki's ribs, he laughed as it thudded off with minimal damage and quickly countered with a jab to the right shoulder. Though, he wasn't expecting the headbutt, which mostly surprised the chuunin rather than hurting him, though this came with the secondary effect of a second genjutsu. "GOD FUCKING DAMNIT!!!" Itsuki yelled out as an army of shadow assailants came slowly approaching Itsuki. Oh, this is the same jutsu that weird attempted kidnapper use on me, I should be able to break out quickly! he thought to himself, though when he tried he found it more difficult than expected. Takeo must be focusing fully, then I must do the same thing, releasing his protective jutsu and sitting down in the nightmare-state to focus himself. He finally broke free, just before being stuck full of imaginary blades, though he knew they would've felt real enough and broken his concentration. Though, when he regained bodily autonomy he chose to feign pain. Dropping to one knee, he put his hands there to rest as well, though this was all a ploy. Quickly preforming the hand seals necessitated, Itsuki slammed his hand onto the surface of the water and preformed Raiton: Amigumo. It's range and efficiency being increased due to them standing on such a conductive surface.

Takeo's Sharingan analyzed Itsuki's chakra, and the chuunin made some space between the two before Itsuki could free himself. Takeo did this to set up a ranged attack when Itsuki broke free. Takeo observed Itsuki's chakra change and him visibly break free of the genjutsu. His rival fell to his knees and hands, but then immediately began performing hand seals. Takeo had experienced this jutsu before, and his Sharingan immediately picked up on the raiton chakra kneading in Itsuki's body. Takeo's hands moved with Itsuki's performing the hand seals for Kuchiyose no Jutsu. When Itsuki began surging electricity out from his hands on the lakebed Takeo jumped into the air. He pressed his palm against his chest and summoned Kuromaku. The chuunin immediately grabbed onto his raven who was already flying in the air. Electricity crawled across the lakebed like a spun web. "Kuromaku, Suiton BFB," called out Takeo as his summon flew over Itsuki using Suiton: Suigadan from below his feet. This brought a large mass of spinning pressurized water up from under Itsuki's feet. Takeo stood tall on Kuromaku's back and took a deep inhale. On his exhale he used Fuuton: Shinkuu Taigyoku which he aimed at Itsuki. If his rival could manage to avoid the suiton attack from below; he would likely struggle with the sphere of wind flying his way.
