Joukigakure- The village hidden in steam. Joukigakure is located on a moderately sized island off the coast of the main Shinobi world, specifically off the coast of Tsuchi no Kuni. The island itself is particularly swarming with okai, specifically Oni, due to the country's history of war and bloodshed. Joukigakure is centered around the belief of 'Faith', this is due to the prevelent Yokai presence. Because of this, the Ichi Izure Aruku no Iki rose to power and have held that position ever since beginning times. The Kagerou, Heat Haze Leader, is the village's version of a Kage and is elected by the populace. Joukigakure takes inspiration from real lifes cutures such as the Matagi Japanese culture, North Eastern African cultures, Xing Dynsasty Japan, Golden Era Russia, and Tibetan cultures. Joukigakure is not very well known by the outside world, but it knows much of it, this is thanks to it's legendary shipyard. Other notable parts of Joukigakure include it's heavily defensive bulwark, the stables, and the Shinto shrine for the Ichi Izure Aruku no Iki that is connected to the Kagerou HQ. Aside from religion, militarism is heavily pushed in this village.
