Mission Title: The Trees NEED You!

Information: The annual protest for the trees is occurring in Arashiryugakure. The march starts in Arashigakure and moves up through Ryugakure before ending in front of the Kage's tower. You are tasked with guarding the march, and making sure no one interrupts the exercise of free speech. You are permitted to use whatever methods you require, but please refrain from killing citizens over some trees! The group of protestors is also granting 15.000 Ryo to any ninja who successfully protects them and meshes well with their tree-hugging group!

Yoshi had been waiting in a central park of Arashigakure since very early in the morning, 5:30 AM was when he arrived exactly, he planned it out that way. This was because this was an important date for Yoshi, today was his first mission he'd handle on his own! Not only that, but he was also on a mission that was specifically in-line with his personal ideas and goals for himself. Of course, Yoshi was more than happy to defend a peaceful protest that promoted defending the lives of trees and protection of forests! But, aside from that, Yoshi was also excited to be seen publicly defending and aiding the people of Arashiryugakure. Especially after becoming the Jinchuuriki of Hachibi no Hebi, it was now not only his goal but his duty. He wanted nothing more than to spread as much good as he could to the world, specifically to the area he was local to. With his bo-staff laid gently on his lap and his hands planted on his kneecaps Yoshi meditated until the first couple protesters began to roll into the meeting point of the aforementioned protest. He opened one eye to catch a peek and then rose to his feet.

The short boy continued to linger to the side, directly under the shade of a tree, as he waited for more of the tree-saving individuals to filter in overtime. He blended in well enough with this type of crowd anyway, so they paid him no mind. Eventually, a girl with extremely long brown hair, ragged clothing, and a megaphone stood atop a nearby stone and began to address the people present. "Okay everybody! We're gonna have a nice, PEACEFUL, but effective protest. OUR VOICES WILL BE HEARD! The people of Arashiryugakure cannot be silenced by the influence of those in power! Those with WEALTH, with ROOTS, hmph! WITH PIETY! Today, we march to the buildings of both the Raikage of Arashigakure and Ryugakure, starting with the former, and make our demands heard! No more expansions into the already sparse forestry of Kaminari no Kuni! These beautiful landscapes are like pieces of art in nature and demand to be protected, and they will be, thusly! Are you all ready?! LET'S GO! NO MORE CUTTING! OR WE'LL GET GUTTING! NO MORE CUTTING! OR WE'LL GET GUTTING!" The crowd that had formed began to join in with her and carry on towards the HQ of Raijin Hakujin. Just then, Yoshi approached the girl to address her directly as she obviously had an influence here. "Hello there ma'am. I'm Haruka Yoshi, nice to meet you." he stuck out his hand and continued, "I'm here to act as a bodyguard for you all!"

The woman looked at Yoshi, he had grown slightly in his two years of being a Genin of Arashiryugakure so they were met eye to eye. She looked puzzled and then eyed him up and down, "right... I had heard the village put out a statement about sending a ninja to help protect the protestors... nark! We don't need you snooping around here, and calling in reinforcements to turn on us if we end up too 'rowdy'! This is gonna be a peaceful protest, anti-protestors be damned!" Yoshi was a bit caught off-guard, though she had already proven herself to be outspoken he supposed. "Uh, no, actually I'm not here to spy on you or anything like that at all. I'm just here to defend you guys if need be, honestly, just go on about your business as if I weren't even here. Pay me no mind!" The two walked with the crowd as they spoke, making their way through the streets of Arashigakure with the protestors. "Oh, you can be sure of it! Go on, ShInObI, just stay out of the way! NO MORE CUTTING! OR WE'LL GET GUTTING!" She continued to chant. Yoshi sighed and then jumped onto the rooftops of the tall and rickety homes of Arashigakure.

Yoshi ran across the rooftops, keeping an eye down on the crowd as he did so, trying to reach the lead. As he did so, he kept an eye on onlookers. Most seemed intrigued, and those that seemed angriest looked only annoyed at best, probably by the noise or the inability to use that one street without pushing through. Yoshi grinned a bit as he relaxed slightly. Just then, he caught sight of an old man approaching from the right that would seem harmless to most but the beast within Yoshi stirred. Boy... you, and I. We are together now, for worse or for worse... but we do not have to be at odds. It will benefit us both to... work together. I know what your goal is... that man, down there, you sense him... his feelings are more bitter, sly, and wicked than the others hinge of annoyance. Stop him. Ah... um... well, thank you... I suppose. I-- I'll do that, Yoshi responded, a bit puzzled. He and the Hachibi hadn't spoken until then... He leapt down before the man to confront him. "Old man, I'm the security here today, you're giving me bad vibes! Stop and frisk!" Yoshi yelled out, he pointed at the man and waited for him to acquise. The man did not, instead, he reached for a vial he had hidden in his belt loop behind his jacket. Yoshi dashed to stop him, tackling him and sending the vial flying far back, it crashed into a nearby trashcan and immediately caught fire. "Dude, what the fuck, they just want to protect trees!" The old man, with a surprising amount of force, though Yoshi was pretty light, kicked the genin off of his person and regained his footing. He reached for a knife as he spoke, "boy... I am a forester, they're ruining my livelihood, stealing the food right off of my table! You wouldn't understand!" He dashed at Yoshi in a fury as the boy retrieved his bo staff. In one fell swoop the man was disarmed, in a second he was dropped to the ground with a disabling strike over the shoulder. "Well, um, maybe try masonry..?" Yoshi mumbled, he propped the man up against the wall and then continued to follow the crowd as they reached the Raikage's HQ finally.

Yoshi returned to the rooftops of Arashigakure's residential and office buildings, just before the Raikage Hakujin Raijin's barracks. As the crowd finished marching and reached their destination, they were able to focus all of their attention onto their cheering, rather than splitting the energy, thus their chanting grew intensly in volume. This must've been what stirred the bear... Suddenly, Yoshi caught a glimpse of lightning tearing through the rooftop of the barracks and then suddenly stricking once again just behind the closed metal gates of the HQ. When the flash and smoke dissipated, the Raikage of Arashigakure remained. With crackling lightning pouring from his eyes he addressed the crowd in a booming voice that would've went over their chanting even if they hadn't stopped in awe, "You all know who I am. I have heard you decrees, you have made enough noise here, I will impliment changes. Be gone." He put everything to succintly and crossed his hands, the crowd knew there work here was done, so they meandered off... Yoshi chuckled to himself, that was both a waste of time and necessary!

Yoshi continued to trail the center part of the protesting crowd as he watched some stragglers break off, and some later comers join in. Like a living, breathing organism, in a way... he considered to himself. They were all making their way up towards Ryugakure, the higher in altitude and status of the two sister villages. Yoshi had expected some of the morale of these protestors to burn out by now, not that he was hoping for such just that he assumed it would have happened by now, but he was completely wrong. Well, after Raijin their morale dropped a bit, but it picked back up! Each step they took towards Ryugakure, their chanting grew louder, almost in opposition to the pristine appearance it always trys to uphold. Their goal wasn't a polite seat at the table, it was immediate and drastic change! After not too long, the large crowd reached the inner-wall that separated Arashi and Ryu. "Ah, this could get a bit more... dramatic in Ryugakure..." he said to himself as their booming chant echoed in the mostly silent cobble streets.

Yoshi was having a suspiciously easy time since entering the streets of Ryugakure, he expected at least a little opposition. It made absolutely no sense to him, culturally mainly, that those in Ryugakure would peacefully ignore these protestors whilst the old man from Arashigakure would stoop down to violence. Because of this unsettling and unexplained feeling, the young genin decided to go on ahead and see if anything was stirring. He was lucky he did so, because just at about the time he reached the front of the protests and just about the time they reached the half-way point to the Raikage of Ryugakure's temple, he could see an opposing group of pissed-off looking nobles and a ragtag militia fitted with decorative weapons and armor arguing with the long-haired girl from earlier and some other prominent protestors. Yoshi rushed towards the argument point to jump in and diffuse the issue, however would be necessary.

Yoshi jumped down to the street level and ran over between the two respective leaders of each group as the argument began to grow to visually heated proportions. "WOAH WOAH WOAH! Okay, you, ma'am, calm down I can handle this, please. You, sir, what is your name and what exactly do you think that you are doing?!" Yoshi narrowed his eyes at him. It was public knowledge that this protest was sanctified by the village council, these anti-protestors had no right to stop them as long as they didn't break any of the rules themselves, which they hadn't. The man was tall and snobish looking with complexly designed armor that was clearly more decorative than practical. "IIIII am Tadayoshi Shin. Noble. Diplomat. Merchant. AND TODAY, protector of Ryugakure and it's people! Since the Raikage, my cousin, well one of them anyway, is too weakwilled to defend against the tyranny of these FOOLS!" Yoshi was surprised by this man's fervent hatred for these people, they were peacefully protesting the promotion of trees! This dude needed a life. Just then, the girl from earlier jumped in, "Tadayoshi Shin, I know all about you! You're one of the leading developers of commercial businesses in Kaminari no Kuni. And you are Lord Kozuke's SECOND cousin. And YOU are the fool, we are allowed to be here old man! What's the flimsy sword going to do anyway?!" The man looked disgusted and responded in kind, "OH! How dare you! Don't make me show you, little girl, you know nothing of HONOR!" the man seemed to reach for his hilt, which sent a wave of anger through Yoshi he had never experienced, causing him to shout out. "TRY IT YOU OLD CORNY FUCK AND ILL HAVE YOUR BONY HAND SENT TO LOOOORD KOZUKE PERSONALLY!" The man was absolutely shocked at this and ran away with his tal between his legs, along with the other wanna-be-samurai-nobles. Yoshi regained his composure, but he was shaken to the core by such an outburst, it wasn't him... The girl leading the protests seemed just as taken aback, as she hurridly returned to manning the march. Yoshi returned to the rooftops, what... was that..?

Ruminating on what had transpired just a few minutes before, Yoshi had begun to lag behind a bit. The crowd went on ahead, but he wasn't too far behind. It was just a tad unsettling to him, to act out of such malice was completely out-of-character for Yoshi. It felt like he was possessed, unsettling may even have been an understatement! After long, though, Yoshi snapped back to paying attention to his duties and ran back up towards the center. He kept an eye out for any straggling irate nobles that didn't get the message in the first place, but to his knowledge everything was clear. "Whew, nice," he sighed as he said aloud revealing the anxiety he had been experiencing and finally relaxation. Or at least a bit of it, as his job wasn't finished, they had just finally reached the gates to Todoyoshi Kozuke's temple. Though he very much so doubted the Raikage causing any problems, seeing as he sanctified the protests in the first place. Stopping at the gate, they all began to chant loudly!

"NO MORE CUTTING! OR WE'LL GET GUTTING! NO MORE CUTTING! OR WE'LL GET GUTTING! YAH! YAH! RAH!" and so on, the crowd continued to chant loud and proud. Clearly their message had made it's way through the village, permeating through the streets and into the ears of Arashiryugakure's receptive citizens. They had come here to protect the trees and succeeded, just like Yoshi had come here to protect the tree protectors and succeeded as well! There was a sense of pride, joy, and fulfillment in the air that even reached the rooftops where Yoshi resided. Yoshi watched as some representatives were sent from the Raikage's temple, approaching and opening the gate to speak with the female leading the march and others. They started writing down their demands and contemplating compromises, though this was just the beginning of a process required to really impliment changes, they had made immense strides in progress today!
